While the little ones play and work well together, we are looking for people to join a team of our own…

Building works at The Children’s Play Village are coming along just nicely and we are looking forward with a spring in our step! There doesn’t seem to be anything in the way of the pace of progress. While this lovely lot play pretend cafes and work well together, we are on the search for a team of our own to work in our bistro, kitchen and reception… the people who will make all the difference to our visitors’ experience.

The positions are for those who naturally and instinctively want to make people happy and intuitively know how to look after and treat others well. We are looking for a Front of House Catering Manager, a Kitchen Manager/Cook, Kitchen Assistants, Front of House Assistants and Receptionists/Administrator who care about doing even the little things well and who keep visitors best interests at heart by delivering a quality of service you’d hope to receive yourself.

For those working in our bistro Kitchen, this will mean preparing every plate of food with care and pride; for the Catering Manager this will mean running a tight ship with gentle hands to look after both visitors and staff you lead; and for those working in our reception and serving areas this will mean serving and greeting our visitors in a warm, fun and friendly way just as you would hope your own family and friends would be welcomed and looked after.

Front of House Catering Manager

Overseeing the smooth running of our Bistro area of the Play Village, this is a role that calls for someone with some get up and go! Someone who has a heart for doing things better every time, who understands that we are only as good as our last day in customer service and can take control, accountability and ownership for overseeing the smooth running of the catering and front of house functions of the Play Village.

Receptionist/Administrator

Like all great receptionists and administrators, this role is about being the first warm and friendly point of contact for customers. We are looking for someone who is confident to take charge of our front of house so our visitors welcome to the Play Village is smooth, their queries are answered well and there’s sharp efficiency in carrying out administrative and reception related tasks.

Front of House Assistant

Working in our Bistro area of the Play Village, this role is about providing a seamless service to our customers through the taking of orders and serving of food and drinks and taking charge of keeping this area ship shape and in good organised order.

Kitchen Manager/Cook

We are looking for someone who has a love for serving good, fresh food. This is for someone who takes pride in themselves and their team turning out quality dishes to customers every time, who also enjoys running the tight ship day to day operation of a kitchen. The Bistro menu has been created with the support of our Chef Consultant who will work alongside you initially to help maintain and develop our ‘food vision’ for The Play Village.

Kitchen Catering Assistant

This role is for someone who thrives working in a kitchen environment who gets great pleasure from others enjoying the food they have helped to prepare. This is a position for someone with high standards, an understanding that detail matters who can assist the Kitchen Manager/Cook in preparing tasty good food.

What type of people are we looking for? 

There’s no doubt The Play Village will be a lively and fun environment to work with the hustle and bustle of families and children enjoying the space we have.

We are looking for people who are not frightened to show a bit of personality and warmth to our customers, who have an eye for detail and enjoy the pride of being great hosts. Like all customer facing roles and busy environments, there will be times when there will be pressure and a good pinch of patience, sense of humour and coming together as a tight team will be needed.

As we prepare to open our doors, we are looking for people are willing to grow and learn with us and as a team strive for high standards and the quality service our customers should expect from us.

What are the hours and rate of pay?

We want to be as flexible as we can to create the right team and all positions apart from the Front of House Catering Manager are offered as part time or full time vacancies to ensure we cover of our opening hours of 9.30am – 6.30pm. The Front of House Catering Manager role is a full time position.
