School Holidays At The Children Play Village

The school holidays are a popular time for us here at The Children’s Play Village with our play sessions often fully booked in advance with families visiting us from both near and far. We often get asked lots of different questions about whether we are busier during the school holidays, whether families need to pre-book and when the holidays start for us. We thought it might be helpful to share the answers to some of the questions guests regularly ask us.

Are you busier during school holidays?

We do get fully booked early for the school holidays and there can be a misconception that we will be much busier than usual. We care deeply about the quality of play experience and comfort of families joining us and with that in mind we strictly limit the number of guests visiting our play sessions.  It is a deliberate choice not to increase the number of children playing at any one time so children have the freedom to explore all of our play areas in their own time without feeling overwhelmed by lots of guests or frustrated that they haven’t had the opportunity to play in all of our role play areas. It is one of the many reasons why our play sessions do get booked up and something families have told us they appreciate and enjoy. Our maximum capacity for each play session never changes and stays the same all year around.

In fact it might be a surprise to learn that we often find school holidays feel less busy overall. We often host fewer adult guests during weekday half term sessions with mums, dads and family carers  having the unenviable task of juggling childcare over the holidays. So we might see mum, dad or grandparents bringing their little ones for a play as opposed to all the family.

Are the play sessions different?

During the school holidays, what we do see for sure are more little people of wider and varied age ranges playing together and enjoying The Play Village. During a typical school week our play sessions are generally made up of pre-schoolers with our school holiday play sessions similar to our weekends welcoming slightly older children, siblings visiting together and children ranging from babies through to upper primary school age.

When do school holidays start at the Play Village?

Local parents with pre-school age children told us that it would be helpful if we share half term dates so they could plan their visits around the school holidays.  We think this will be helpful too. Our school holiday dates can be slightly different to those locally in Warwick as we attract families far and wide whose holiday dates can be different in neighbouring counties.  Over the past year since opening we have understood much better where our lovely visitors travel from to visit us and this has helped us understand when school holidays are likely to start for us at The Children’s Play Village.

Please see a guide to school holiday dates for 2022. Please note: we provide this information to be a helpful guide and dates may vary due to school teacher training days or other changes within localities that we are not aware of.

Do we need to book a visit in advance?

We strongly recommend booking your visit in advance whether this is half term or a normal school week. We would never want to disappoint any family who decide to visit us on the day without a booking, however, if our play sessions are fully booked we are respectful to our guests visiting that day which often means we are unable to accommodate walk ins. We know that not all things can be planned and you may want to make a spontaneous visit to us.  To check availability please email hello@childrensplayvillage.co.uk

From all the team here at The Children’s Play Village, we look forward to welcoming you and your family soon.
